Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer (Azure) to support a leading organization in building and maintaining secure, scalable cloud environments. The Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer will play a key role in designing, deploying, and optimizing Azure infrastructure to support both enterprise IT workloads and modern application platforms. This position will be onsite 4 days per week in Bethesda, MD.
Responsibilities- Design, deploy, and support Azure infrastructure across compute, storage, and networking
- Build and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
- Implement secure Azure networking architectures including Private Link and hub-and-spoke models
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and resiliency solutions (Azure Backup, Site Recovery)
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure reliability and performance of cloud environments
- Partner with application teams to support PaaS services and CI/CD enablement
- Collaborate with Security, IT Operations, and stakeholders on architecture and changes
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering
- Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure in production environments
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or similar)
- Strong understanding of Azure networking, identity, and security concepts
- Experience supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and support complex cloud environments
- Experience designing secure Azure networking architectures (Private Endpoints, segmentation)
- Familiarity with Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, and Azure SQL backup models
- Experience supporting modern application platforms and CI/CD pipelines
- Background in financial services or other regulated environments
- Salary: $130,000 – $160,000 annually (based on experience)
