GDIT is looking for a Storage Engineer to join our National Institutes of Health (NIH) CIT Hosting and Storage Services Program. This is a HYBRID role - 3 days on customer site in Bethesda MD. This role will require you to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and will require you to provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility. This investigation may review personal and criminal behavior, financial conduct, foreign influence, as well as other adjudications.
- Support SAN/NAS storage and backup environments
- Manages storage provisioning, backups, and recovery
- Performs storage troubleshooting and capacity tracking
- Updates storage documentation and baselines
- Data replication, synchronization, and backup/restore processes across hybrid cloud environments
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams on storage best practices, backup, recovery, and DR procedures
- BS/BA or equivalent combination of education and experience6 years supporting SAN/NAS storage and backup environments
- Experience with provisioning, replication, and performance checks
- Skilled in storage documentation
- Experience with documentation, effectively sharing insights, and developing standard operating procedures
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
- AWS Solutions Architect certification
- AWS Advanced Networking certification
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and application teams, to ensure storage architecture meets project requirements and organizational standards
- Hands-on experience with key AWS services, including S3, EC2, VPC, and Lambda, for automation and infrastructure management
- Strong knowledge of data replication, synchronization, and backup/restore processes across hybrid cloud environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex requirements and deliver effective solutions
- Ability to effectively communicate
