Job DescriptionDuties
DUTY 1 Performs Career Broadener assignments involving a broad range of functional research assignments entailing unique problems, creativity, innovative use of techniques, advanced approaches, and/or new technologies supporting the Command Data and AI Office (CDAO).
DUTY 2 In a Career Broadening capacity; serves as an expert on cross-functional modeling and simulation techniques for ACC. Utilizes scientific inquiry in the independent development of mathematical models and computer programs to evaluate and predict the ability to support assigned projects, studies, or problems.
DUTY 3 As a Career Broadener, provides cross-functional technical guidance, advisory support and assistance on an entire project and/or major phases for broad and varied operations.
DUTY 4 Attends meetings, conferences, briefings and seminars related to program planning, advanced technologies, and support system concepts.
DUTY 5 Accomplishes professional development and maintains technical proficiency through professional interaction with technical and professional societies, associations, academia, symposia, contractors, research and development (R&D) organizations, and participation in formal training programs.

PCS cost will be paid IAW Career Broadening Policy under this agreement.
Career Broadening positions are managed by AFPC/DP2Z and are centrally funded.
Positions are established specifically to provide developmental experience designed to broaden the skills and/or enhance the leadership perspective of a high-potential, mid-level manager.
Career Broadening also provides training and developmental opportunities at various organizational levels.
These assignments offer the qualified candidate a unique assignment in that the candidates brings certain experience to the assignment while gaining new experiences in a different work environment
TEMPORARY PROMOTION:
If the position is filled as a temporary promotion, upon completion of the career broadening assignment, the temporary promotion may lead to permanent promotion without further competition
This is a designated drug-testing position, incumbent will be subject to random testing for drug use.
Travel by regularly scheduled commercial or military conveyances IAW Joint Travel Regulations may be required in performance of TDY
Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
Disclosure of Political Appointments
Must have a bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as computer or electronics engineering, computer science, or mathematics
Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Professional and Scientific Positions. SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience include mastery knowledge of one or more specialized areas of operation research sufficient to apply new analytical developments, methodologies, mastery of the application of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness, comprehensive knowledge of the range of administrative laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to the data policy and federal law for data protection, data management strategies, workflow identification processes, system deconstruction methods to develop ACC ecosystems, program management, DoD financial planning and POM processes to identify and defend requirements, integrate activities, and data needs and existing "state of the industry" practices in providing data solutions, including security requirements for certification and accreditation.
