The Intel Sector is currently looking for experienced Hausa/Chinese Triage Examiners who can perform media exploitation (MEDEX) and triage in support of a customer in the National Capital Region (NCR). Candidates should have strong linguistic, analytical, and computer skills to conduct e‑discovery examinations of electronic media, identify and prioritize items of importance, and produce clear reports for further processing.
Responsibilities- Perform data discovery on large datasets of foreign‑language material and identify essential elements of information.
- Convert, reformat, parse, and otherwise exploit media files using customer tools to ensure compatibility and readability for translation systems.
- Prepare files and metadata for transfer to translation systems, including review of foreign‑language data.
- Produce reports of findings and disseminate to customers, analysts, and liaison officers.
- Prepare accurate written gists, translations, and/or transcriptions of general and technical material.
- Ensure operational experience within the required Spanish/Chinese language.
- Proficiency in the required languages and analysis skills needed to master job‑required tools and processes; on‑the‑job training available as needed.
- Native‑level proficiency in English.
- At least two years of overall experience in Spanish and Chinese linguist operations (translation, language analysis) and two years performing media examination for Document and Media Exploitation projects.
- Willingness to perform occasional shift work to meet mission demands.
- Minimum academic score of 3/3 in Reading and Listening in Hausa/Chinese and 3+/3+ in Reading and Listening in English.
- BA degree and/or 4 years of relevant experience, or a Masters with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to summarize complex technical subjects clearly and accessibly.
- Outcome‑based problem solving of ill‑defined and abstract problems.
- Capacity to maintain project momentum while working independently with limited oversight.
- Rapid scanning and processing of large volumes of foreign‑language material for essential information.
- Comprehension of customer prioritization requirements and application of personal judgment to assess file value.
- History of working on screening or translation projects while preserving integrity and meaning of translated material.
- Professional communication skills across email, spoken, and reports.
- Decision‑making under stress while meeting deadlines in a high‑paced environment.
- Familiarity with DOD and IC report‑writing styles.
- Proficiency with standard computer systems, office programs, and media examination tools.
- Willingness or ability to learn customer‑specific software and tools.
- Must currently possess an active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.
- Recent SCI‑level access is a significant advantage and preferred.
- Must be able to pass a polygraph and subject interview.
- Native‑level proficiency in a foreign language.
- Graduate of the Defense Language Institute Spanish or Chinese course.
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Law, Medicine, Banking and Finance, Foreign Military, or Forensics.
- Familiarity with Digital Forensics/eDiscovery/Document and Media Exploitation (DOMEX) processes and specialized tools (e.g., FTK, EnCase).
- Past performance as a media examiner for DOD or IC customers.
