Position: Russian/Chinese  Triage Examiners

The Intel Sector is currently seeking experienced Russian/Chinese triage examiners to perform media exploitation (MEDEX) and triage in support of a customer in the National Capital Region (NCR). Triage examiners should have expertise in general linguist operations, document and media exploitation (DOMEX), advanced computer systems aptitude, and the ability to analyze and prioritize foreign‑language data. Responsibilities include conducting eDiscovery examinations of electronic media for content of interest, identifying and prioritizing items for further processing, communicating progress and significant findings to superiors, and producing reports for customers.

Language

Spanish / Chinese – native‑level proficiency required.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform data discovery on large datasets of foreign‑language material and identify essential elements.
  • Convert, reformat, parse, and exploit media files using customer tools to ensure compatibility and readability for translation systems.
  • Prepare files and metadata for transfer to translation systems, including review of foreign‑language data.
  • Produce reports of findings and disseminate to customer, analysts, and liaison officers.
  • Prepare accurate written gists, translations, and/or transcriptions of general and technical material.
  • Demonstrate operational experience within the Spanish/Chinese language.
Basic Qualifications
  • Strong language, analytic, and technical skills; proficiency with job‑required tools and processes.
  • Native‑level proficiency in English.
  • Two years of overall experience in Hausa and Spanish linguist operations and two years of experience performing media examination for DOMEX projects.
  • Willingness to perform occasional shift work.
  • Minimum scores of 3/3 in Reading and Listening for Spanish/Chinese and 3+/3+ in Reading and Listening for English.
  • BA degree and/or four years of prior relevant experience, or a master’s degree with two years of prior relevant experience.
  • Ability to produce concise, accessible summaries of complex subjects.
  • Outcome‑based problem‑solving of ill‑defined and abstract problems.
  • Ability to maintain project momentum independently over long periods.
  • Rapid scanning and processing of large amounts of foreign‑language material.
  • Understanding of customer prioritization requirements and ability to apply personal judgment.
  • History of maintaining the integrity and meaning of translated material.
  • Professional communication skills (email, spoken, written).
  • Sound decision‑making and stress management in a high‑paced environment.
  • Familiarity with DOD and IC report‑writing styles.
  • Working proficiency in standard computer systems and office programs; experience with media examination tools.
  • Ability to use or train on customer‑specific software programs and tools.
Clearance Requirements
  • Current TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.
  • Recent SCI‑level access is an advantage.
  • Must be able to pass a polygraph and subject interview.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Native‑level proficiency in a foreign language.
  • Graduate of the Defense Language Institute Spanish or Chinese Course.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Law, Medicine, Finance, Foreign Military, or Forensics.
  • Familiarity with Digital Forensics/eDiscovery/DOMEX processes and specialized tools such as FTK, EnCase, or similar.
  • Past performance as a media examiner for DOD or IC customers.

Pay Range: $73,450.00 – $.
