Duties Help
* You will oversee nursing care for adult and pediatric DoD beneficiaries, including active duty, retirees, and their families, at the LTC David Cabrera University Family Health Center, a Walter Reed National Military Medical Center branch clinic.
* You will provide direct nursing care to ambulatory patients in the family medicine specialty clinic.
* You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement safe, efficient, and cost-effective patient care.
* You will plan and assign work for subordinates, setting priorities and schedules. You will also evaluate their performance and provide instruction on work and administrative matters.
* You will interview candidates for unit positions and recommend their appointment, promotion, or reassignment.
* You will hear and resolve employee complaints, issue minor disciplinary actions like warnings, and recommend further action for more serious cases.
* You will identify and arrange for the developmental and training needs of employees.
* You will determine staffing needs and bed use based on patient acuity.
* You will plan, delegate, and direct nursing care based on patient requirements and staff skills.
* You will apply in-depth nursing knowledge and critical thinking to obtain a patient's clinical history.
* You will formulate nursing assessments, develop and implement care plans, and document patient care in accordance with nursing standards, LIP guidance, and established policies.
* You will use critical thinking to implement LIP orders and ensure they are appropriate for the patient's current condition. Requirements Help Conditions of employment

* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Registered Nurse license.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Basic Life Support certification.
* This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. Qualifications Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Individual Occupational Requirements Nursing Series, 610 In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specilized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: rapid clinical triage and risk assessment for diverse patient populations, from pediatrics to geriatrics, while leveraging immediate EHR proficiency for efficient charting and "In-Basket" management.
My expertise extends to preventative care, including immunizations, screenings, and chronic disease management. As an experienced Nurse, I excel at delegating to LPNs and MAs to optimize clinic workflow and maintain high standards of patient care. This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factors are:
* Active Registered Nursing License:
Unencumbered licensure in the state of practice.
* BLS Certification:
Current Basic Life Support.
* Ambulatory Care
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in an outpatient or primary care setting.
