What You Will DoWe are currently searching for a Research Nurse to work in the transplant and cellular therapy with the Division of Intramural Research this position, the individual will have a critical role in the various protocol development, implementation, and evaluation activities. This role will also serve as a crucial part of a dynamic clinical team for several simultaneous research studies. This is a full-time opportunity located in Bethesda, MD.
- Educate and counsel patients participating in clinical trials, including following up with patients in long‑term studies and providing Q&A time via phone to patients.
- Work with a diverse team of health care providers, such as physicians, advanced practitioners, patient care coordinators, and data managers to service patients and conduct clinical research.
- Facilitate patient recruitment and enrollment into ongoing clinical trials.
- Ensure compliance with protocol and regulatory requirements.
- Support ongoing research and clinical programs at NHLBI and NIH Clinical Center.
- Manage clinical research data and provide data quality assurance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Active, current license as a registered nurse in the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- A minimum of TWO (2) years of clinical research experience in transplant, hematology, and/or oncology.
- Strong background in clinical research, preferably with experience beyond healthy volunteer studies.
- Demonstrated ability to work with both healthy volunteers and medically complex patients.
- Experience supporting Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials.
- Skilled in managing the unique needs of very ill patients in a research setting.
- Prior experience at the NIH Clinical Center is highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to adapt to fast‑paced, high‑acuity research environments.
