Position Summary
AMI Expeditionary Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with apheresis experience to join our team supporting the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland on a 13-week contract. This is a unique opportunity to provide exceptional nursing care while working alongside world-class healthcare professionals in an environment dedicated to advancing patient care and medical research.
Schedule- Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week
- 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- On-Call Requirements:
Participation in weekend and holiday on-call rotation, including a minimum of one full weekend per month
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in an outpatient clinical setting
- Perform patient assessments and accurately document findings in the electronic medical record
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, treatments, and patient education
- Triage patient concerns and coordinate appropriate follow-up care
- Monitor patient conditions and communicate significant changes to providers
- Support chronic disease management and preventive health initiatives
- Coordinate referrals, consultations, and continuity of care
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation in NIH electronic health systems
- Follow all infection prevention, patient safety, privacy, and quality assurance standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
- Successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX)
- Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license in at least one U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent hospital experience in apheresis
- Ability to successfully complete the AMI credentialing process
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems
- Utilize appropriate methods for interacting effectively and professionally with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural socioeconomic, educational, racial, and ethnic, sexual orientations, lifestyles, and physical abilities.
- Deliver targeted, culturally appropriate information to help individuals and groups understand health promotion and disease prevention information, policies, regulations, and local code.
The candidate’s offer is contingent upon completing a criminal background investigation, reference, and credentialing (where applicable) check. Additionally, the company may require security clearance and other U.S. Government checks depending on the specific contract the candidate may work.
