Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Opportunity
Gia Care Inc. is accepting applications from experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurses for a future opportunity supporting Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
This position is being recruited in anticipation of contract award. Qualified candidates will be considered for employment upon contract award.
About the OpportunityJoin one of the nation's premier military medical centers providing exceptional care to active duty service members, military families, retirees, and other eligible beneficiaries. As a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse, you'll provide comprehensive nursing care throughout the labor and delivery process, working alongside a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Schedule- Full-Time
- Day Shift
- 12.5-hour shifts (includes unpaid meal break)
- Shift:
- Every other weekend required as scheduled
- All weekend shifts occur between Friday 0715 and Monday 0715
- Must have a minimum of eight (8) consecutive hours free from all Registered Nurse duties immediately preceding each scheduled shift
- Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor and delivery.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor.
- Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders.
- Respond appropriately to obstetrical emergencies.
- Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with military treatment facility policies and nursing standards.
- U.S. Citizen
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN)
- Current, full, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license from any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
- Current or willing to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Current or willing to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Current STABLE certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (renewed every 2 years)
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification (AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or Advanced Fetal Monitoring)
- Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) certification (renewed every 3 years), or Evidence-Based Obstetric Emergency (ECO) certification (renewed every 2 years if ALSO is not commercially available)
- Continuously employed as an RN for the past 3 years prior to contract start
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a high-risk Obstetrical Unit
- Experience across the full spectrum of Labor & Delivery nursing, including Labor, Antepartum, Triage, Circulating during C-sections, and Postpartum care
