Join a unique clinical environment focused on advanced oncology care and clinical research. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract in an ambulatory Radiation Oncology Unit
.
This is an opportunity to provide specialized oncology care while working alongside physicians and clinical research teams on advanced radiation therapies and clinical research trials at a premier biomedical research facility.
What You'll Do- Provide direct patient care in an ambulatory Radiation Oncology setting.
- Care for patients participating in clinical research trials and receiving advanced radiation therapies.
- Perform clinical procedures including peripheral IV insertion, phlebotomy/blood draws, and port/central line access and management
. - Monitor patients for treatment-related symptoms, side effects, and changes in clinical status.
- Support protocol-driven care for patients enrolled in clinical research studies.
- Collaborate with physicians, research teams, and primary care nurses to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients on radiation treatment schedules, skin care, symptom management, and what to expect throughout treatment.
- Accurately document clinical assessments, treatments, and patient responses.
- 13-week contract with a high probability of extension
- Gain experience in a premier clinical research environment.
- Gain valuable exposure to Phase I–III clinical trials and first-in-human therapies
. - Work with advanced radiation oncology treatments and technologies rarely encountered outside of major research institutions.
- Monday–Friday day shift — no nights or weekends
- Build your resume with experience in a leading biomedical research setting.
- Work alongside multidisciplinary oncology and clinical research teams.
- Scrubs are the required dress code.
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience in:
- Radiation Oncology, or
- Ambulatory Oncology
- Demonstrated proficiency with:
- Peripheral IV insertion
- Phlebotomy/blood draws
- Central line/VAD/port access and management
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution accepted.
Contract: 13 weeks
Schedule: Full-time
Shift: Days, Monday–Friday
Hours: 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
Location: Bethesda, MD
