We are looking for a Cagewash Manager to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in Bethesda, MD.
In the CWM role, you can do that by planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the cagewash program, which directly contributes to the integrity of the research.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to provide daily direction and supervision to cagewash technicians to maintain facility operation, condition, security, and sanitation levels, as well as coordinate personnel scheduling.
- Ensure staff operates and maintains equipment and supplies; develop projections for equipment, personnel
- Conduct routine inspections to determine if standards are being met.
- Evaluate and adjust the workflow to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of cagewash operations
- Conduct/participate in training activities and ongoing learning, including improvement planning.
- Develop and implement new or updated SOPs. Additional duties include coordinating and communicating special projects/procedures, supervising record maintenance, as well as generating/submitting reports to management on operations-related issues.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance on all cagewash machinery, equipment, and materials; in addition to organization and up-keep of physical environments.
- Troubleshooting equipment issues, performing minor repairs, and coordinating service visits would also be a responsibility of this position.
- Identify, document, and/or report environmental or cagewash abnormalities.
- Use of computer programs to maintain data and reporting is required; in addition to actively interacting with customers to resolve requests, inquiries, and complaints, and to provide technical assistance.
The following are minimum requirements related to the Cagewash Manager position:
- A.A. in Animal Science or a related field plus 4 years lab animal experience or
- B.A./B.S. degree or higher in Animal Science or related field plus 3 years lab animal experience
- Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in a multi-labor category rodent facility
- AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technologist level (LATG) required.
Additional requirements
- Customer service experience preferred
- Cagewash equipment maintenance experience preferred
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - 42.00 per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
