About the positionThe laboratory of Neurogenetics at the National Institute on Aging (NIA), NIH, is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to investigate the molecular, cellular, and circuit mechanisms underlying Parkinson’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders. Our research integrates molecular biology, advanced imaging, electrophysiology, viral/genetic tools, and systems-level approaches to dissect how pathogenic processes disrupt neural circuits and drive neurodegeneration.
Fellows will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment with access to state-of-the-art core facilities and NIH resources. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Neurodegeneration and proteinopathy mechanisms
- Synaptic biology and circuit neuroscience
- In vivo models of Parkinson’s disease
- Molecular and cellular neuroscience techniques
- Computational or systems neuroscience approaches
Successful candidates will develop independent research projects aligned with our laboratory mission, receive structured mentorship, and be encouraged to pursue career development and independent funding opportunities.
Qualifications- Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent in neuroscience, molecular biology, bioengineering, or a related field
- Strong publication record
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
