We are currently seeking a Scientist with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

Tasks. The contractor shall:

• Design and generate expression constructs for viral proteins (e.g., envelope glycoproteins, capsid proteins, regulatory proteins).
• Develop and optimize expression systems mammalian, insect, or stable cell lines.
• Purify proteins using chromatography methods affinity, SEC, ion exchange.
• Produce high-quality samples suitable for structural and functional studies.
• Develop self-assembling protein nanoparticles and virus-like particles (VLPs).

Requirements. The contractor must have:

• Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Biology
• Experience with cryo-EM instruments (e.g., Titan Krios, Glacios) and preparing samples and optimize vitrification conditions for cryo-EM studies.
• Experience developing self-assembling protein nanoparticles and virus-like particles (VLPs).
• Expertise in performing binding and antigenicity assays (e.g., ELISA, BLI, SPR).
• Expertise in conducting biochemical and biophysical characterization (e.g., SEC-MALS, DLS).
