The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism Section on Clinical Genomics and Experimental Therapeutics, under the direction of Dr. Falk W. Lohoff, is now seeking a highly-motivated Physician to fill a Staff Clinician position.
About the positionThe Section on Clinical Genomics and Experimental Therapeutics conducts innovative clinical and translational research focused on the genetic, neurobiological, and therapeutic mechanisms underlying alcohol use disorder and related conditions.
Our research protocols include inpatient and outpatient addition studies that use novel experimental therapeutics developed through the use of biomarker. The primary responsibilities of this position include the clinical evaluation and medical management of our research participants with alcohol use disorder and their co-occurring conditions, as well as the participation in the design and implementation of our clinical research protocols in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, psychologists, and research staff.
This Staff Clinician will also contribute to protocol development, data interpretation, and dissemination of our research findings. Candidates with a strong interest in clinical research and a track record of scholarly activity in addiction medicine and/or a related field are encouraged to apply.
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience, in accordance with NIH guidelines.
