Position: Clinical Research Associate I - CDP

HJF is seeking a part-time (21 hours/week) Clinical Research Associate I to perform research and/or development in collaboration with other scientific and technical staff. The position supports the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences’ Consortium for Defense Psychology (CDP) in Bethesda, MD, focusing on a study under Dr. Gena Glickman evaluating a multi‑component sleep health intervention for Marines, aiming to improve sleep quality, psychological health outcomes, and suicidality.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. Since 1983, HJF has served as a bridge between the military medical community and federal and private partners, providing administration, management, and support for leading scientific programs that benefit armed forces and civilians.

Responsibilities
  • Plans, conducts, and completes investigations under supervision.
  • Assists with writing and editing experimental results for publication in technical and peer‑reviewed journals.
  • Performs routine data analysis and verifies and corrects data entry.
  • Maintains records and documentation regarding assigned research.
  • Documents current or new procedures or protocols for sample selection, data collection, data processing, and/or statistical estimation.
  • Conducts actigraphy processing, scoring and analyses, and develops visual displays of quantitative information (especially related to sleep data).
  • May train research assistants working on assigned studies.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor, including attendance of and participation in required training for the role.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Master’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 0 to 2 years’ experience required.
Required Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of research procedures.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of all applicable federal and military regulations regarding the use of human and animal subjects in research.
  • Familiarity with Institutional Review Board activities.
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T‑1 Public Trust background check.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
Work Environment
  • Primarily in an office setting.
Compensation
  • Hourly pay range $25.38–$36.06. Actual pay determined by experience, education, etc.

Employment with HJF is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, which may include professional references, verification of previous employment, education and credentials, a criminal background check, and a DMV check if applicable.
