At Green Thumb Industries and RISE Dispensaries, the Asset Protection Specialist (APS) is the first point of contact for guests, providing a warm, welcoming face while ensuring safety and compliance throughout the dispensary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet visitors with warmth and professionalism, serving as the first smiling face guests encounter.
  • Manage the check‑in process efficiently while upholding compliance standards.
  • Set the “RISE Vibe” and provide basic concierge‑level support such as answering common questions and directing traffic.
  • Act as a visible, approachable presence to deter incidents and maintain calm, order, and safety.
  • Monitor store entry/exit points and perimeters to ensure safety, comfort, and regulatory compliance.
  • De‑escalate situations with empathy, tact, and clear communication.
  • Assist team members with safety, cleanliness, compliance, and guest flow by escorting customers and remaining alert and mobile.
  • Report and respond promptly to safety, security, or compliance incidents.
  • Support emergency procedures including fire, evacuation, or weather response.
  • Conduct visual inspections and checklists per SOPs to maintain a secure, hazard‑free environment.
  • Collaborate with store teams, leadership, and customers to build trust and share insights on guest interactions and security risks.
  • Support the training of new APS team members in warm, professional, and compliant behavior.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year of customer‑facing or concierge experience (preferred).
  • Familiarity with POS systems and/or compliance technology (preferred).
  • Security, military, or law enforcement background a plus if combined with strong guest‑first hospitality focus.
  • Ability to work a schedule that includes varying shifts—mornings, days, nights, weekends, and holiday/extended hours.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Pass all required background checks, including state cannabis employment requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license or state .
  • 21 years or older with all state cannabis employment requirements met.
  • Compliance with all legal and company regulations for cannabis industry work.
Additional Requirements
  • Remain alert and responsive during extended periods.
  • Move around the dispensary to assist customers and fulfill assignments.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods, indoors and outdoors.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
  • Operate POS, computer, and office productivity software.
  • Collect and verify customer information, including dates of birth and order details.
  • Move inventory up to 30 lb. independently.
  • Maintain a visible and mobile presence throughout the shift; this is not a desk job.

  • Fast‑paced, patient and customer‑facing retail environment.
  • Outdoor duties in varying weather conditions may be required.
  • Exposure to cannabis and potential allergens in the environment.
