Job Overview

Garda World Security Services is hiring a Tactical Security Officer in Bethesda, MD. Candidates must have current state police officer experience and an active Armed MD Guard Card with handgun permit.

• Open availability weekdays and weekends, including mornings, evenings, and overnights. Flex schedule; full‑time hours not guaranteed.
• Competitive hourly wage of $46.50 per hour (Daily Pay available).

• Attend to active shooter, hostage, bomb threat scenarios; respond with trained force.
• Serve as initial point of contact for police, fire, EMS during incidents.
• Maintain commanding presence and high situational awareness to deter threats.
• Patrol sensitive areas, verify identities, control access to secure zones.
• Check and document alarms, cameras, weapon maintenance, and perform live‑fire and tactical drills.
• Provide detailed incident reports, maintain good customer service, interact with visitors, customers, and executives.
• React quickly to threats or incidents, enforce procedures and regulations.

• Minimum 5 years U.S. police officer experience within last 7 years.
• Active Armed MD Guard Card with handgun permit and secondary weapon certifications (taser, OC spray, baton, handcuff).
• 90% firearm proficiency, ability to disassemble/reassemble firearm.
• Possess Toman or Judgement Use of Force course and Taser training.
• Physical fitness: pass running, push ups, sit ups, step ups test; maintain high integrity, communication, customer service.
• CPR, First Aid, Stop the Bleed certifications.
• Recent background checks, armed and drug assessments, psychological exams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; soft skills for managing personalities; excellent uniform appearance.
• Must be at least 21 years old, high school education or college degree, and able to pass extensive screening.

Per contractual agreements, a high school education (GED) or college degree is required. Must be at least 21 years of age.
