Job Summary

EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate opening for a 1st shift Electrician in Bethesda, MD (6:00am – 2:30pm Monday – Friday). The Technician will report daily to the EMCOR facility manager and support him/her to provide quality workmanship and high work standards to maintain a professional working environment. Primary responsibilities of this position are to be responsible for the electrical needs and general facility maintenance at the facility while performing general maintenance of equipment as required.

Knowledge of and capable to perform electrical repairs and various general tasks assigned. Qualified applicants must be a US Citizen, possess a valid driver’s license and have at least 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in facilities electrical maintenance and dealing with a wide range of general type services. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Communicates effectively with the Facility Manager to determine service needs.

Coordinates and supervise client sub-contractors while performing service on site.

Demonstrates critical thinking to ensure correct solutions are implemented for building electrical systems

Possesses hands-on expertise in navigating electrical systems, troubleshooting electrical issues, operating power and hand tools and interpreting blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications.

Maintain a strict electrical PM schedule to include but not limited to UPS & PDU systems, emergency generators, lighting systems, A/C and Heating equipment.

Performs a wide variety of electrical corrective maintenance work requests such as ballast and bulb replacements, switches, outlets, breakers, interior/exterior/parking garage lighting, etc.

Assist other skilled employees to perform projects as requested and assisting in snow removal when necessary.

Perform monitoring of the building automation computer system to ensure equipment is running and the building temperature conditions are in range.

Qualifications Education

(HS Diploma, Under/Graduate Degree, etc.)

HS Diploma

Business Experience

(prior years work/related experience)

3 – 5 years of experience related to electrical facility maintenance.

Licenses/Certifications

Valid US driver’s license.

Electrical license (Apprentice or Journeyman) desired and a plus.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.

Technical

Qualifications & Skills

Ability to perform various general type maintenance tasks. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence utilizing basic computer skills and ability to communicate via email and internet use.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsible for maintenance and repair of all electrical systems and equipment at this facility such as UPS’s, PDU’s, motors, VFD’s, electrical panels, breakers, circuits, outlets, fixtures, lighting system, Etc.

Must maintain a strict electrical PM schedule. Must have the ability to assist in the maintenance of all mechanical and facility operations equipment as needed.

Must have the ability to occasionally assist in the repair of various types of facility equipment such as air handling equipment, vent fans, circulation fans, boilers, HW heaters, pumps, FCU’s, kitchen equipment, etc.

Organization skills to maintain the client facility maintenance records and reports.

Must perform monitoring of the building automation computer system to ensure equipment is running and the building temperature conditions are in range. Monitoring and operating the client CMMS system for PM’s and work orders.
