Systems Engineer; Tools

Firaxis Games is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer to join our development team. We're looking for an engineer with a strong foundation in software development who enjoys working on a diverse set of challenging problems. In this role, candidates will serve as a domain expert in Systems and Tools utilizing Unreal Tech. We need candidates that bring a passion for building foundational systems to support our next generation of games.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to communicate easily and effectively with fellow coders, designers and artists.

• Design and develop systems to support various game features
• Build and design tools both inside and outside of the Unreal Editor that support content creators
• Set high standards for code quality, performance, and maintainability
• Assist team to resolve difficult technical issues and address Unreal Engine-related challenges
• Identify and bring to attention problematic changes and issues in a timely manner

• 3+ years of engineering experience using Unreal Engine
• A broad knowledge of Unreal's internals
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills
• Highly proficient in C++ programming language.
• Comfortable with multi-threading, templates, and optimizing
• Strong problem solving and debugging skills.
• Self-motivated and passionate about games.
• Good team communication skills, able to translate rough ideas into concrete implementations

• Experience with Unreal Engine 5 Editor and Slate

The pay range for this position in Maryland at the start of employment is expected to be between $98,100 and $145,200 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program.
