Job Description
Position requires a Top Secret (TS/SCI) Clearance with a Polygraph.
Location:
Bethesda, MD. Core hours 9am-4pm. Salary up to $195,000 per year. Level 2 – Expert.
This role provides technical expertise with developing and executing automated testing scripts as part of a tailored SAFe Agile Dev Sec Ops pipeline. It involves software development to implement scripts, evaluate test results, and implement a feedback loop in a Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery Pipeline. Flexible cross‑training to also provide systems engineering, software development, training, security, and testing is desired.
Responsibilities- Participate in program Agile software development initiatives (stand‑up, planning, increment planning) to support innovation and enhancement of custom applications through iteration/functionality testing.
- Collaborate with team members to assess Story Point/complexity efforts using best practices to ensure proper testing and delivery of functionality per User Story Acceptance Criteria.
- Develop test approaches with emphasis on automation of recurring/regression test cases through selected toolsets in collaboration with Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Software Developers.
- Write test validation scripts using designated languages (e.g., Python).
- Create automated test cases using knowledge of custom applications via designated GUI/COTS products (e.g., Selenium and Katalon Studio).
- Leverage Dev Ops practices to ensure repeatability and configuration management of test cases/scripts are maintained and continuously improved.
- Document end‑to‑end functionality test case narratives using task management system (JIRA/Confluence).
- Generate test data and identify use/corner cases required to meet User Story/Customer needs.
- Support performance testing and evaluation activities using tools such as JMeter.
- Perform job duties within Commercial cloud development environments.
- Participate in fielding, integration, system testing, and quality assurance.
- Generate test data in multiple environments.
- Proficient with common Agile practices and Dev Ops development practices.
- Extensive experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) to automate tasks.
- Extensive experience in test data/script development.
- Ability to test both front‑end changes and back‑end application processes.
- Knowledge of or direct experience with software performance testing practices.
- Extensive experience with creation, authoring, execution and documentation of test cases/result sets for software products in an agile cadence.
- Extensive experience working in an Agile development environment and tempo.
- In‑depth experience working/testing within Commercial Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS) and Dev Ops tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work within an agile team collaborative environment with ability to execute test cases complementary to development efforts.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Working knowledge of SAFe Agile, its goals and practices.
- Candidate must have a BS with 12‑15 years of prior relevant experience or a Masters with 10‑13 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with administration of MS Windows Server or Linux environments.
- Experience reviewing output of CI jobs and tracking test failures back to code changes that resulted in bugs.
- Capability to review code check‑ins to understand the impact of code changes on system functionality and potential application bugs.
- Direct experience with AWS environments.
