Data Science Manager
As the Supervisory Data Scientist in CPSC’s Analytics Center of Excellence, you advance the agency’s mission by guiding AI‑enabled risk detection, data governance, and analytics efforts. You collaborate with program offices, lead standards discussions, support cloud‑native modernization, and provide expert insight on high‑visibility projects, balancing long‑term data strategy with rapid response needs.
In addition to the mandatory education requirement, all applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
GS-15- Leading enterprise‑level data, AI/ML, and advanced analytics initiatives central to mission delivery;
- Directing complex, multi-phase technical projects requiring advanced data science, emerging technologies, and modernization of legacy systems;
- Implementing enterprise data governance, lifecycle management, and data quality frameworks;
- Experience demonstrating the ability to translate strategy into execution, influence high‑level decisions, and foster responsible AI and data‑informed decision making.
Evidence of the above specialized experience must be supported by detailed documentation of duties performed in positions held.
