Bethesda, MD (hybrid; 2‑3 days on site, with options for Lehi, UT or Austin, TX offices).

Brivo is seeking a Senior Full‑Stack Software Engineer to design and develop new web services for a global security system. This hybrid position requires 2‑3 days on‑site at our headquarters.

• Spend approximately 70% coding: architect and develop scalable, production‑grade API services mainly with Java/Spring Boot for Kubernetes deployments, Node.js/Type Script and AWS Lambda for serverless delivery.
• Deliver high‑quality, responsive user experiences with React/Type Script.
• Drive technical design, document key decisions (e.g., Architecture Decision Records), and participate rigorously in code reviews and design sessions.
• Own cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines utilizing AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins).
• Collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and QA; work within an Agile team through sprint planning, backlog grooming and feature reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex, high‑impact production issues; proactively identify security vulnerabilities and optimize database performance and models in Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Set a high bar for engineering excellence; serve as a technical mentor and drive process improvements and best practices.
• Partner with other teams across the organization to support architectural and technical improvements.

• 5+ years professional experience designing, developing, and deploying highly‑available, scalable software solutions.
• 5+ years hands‑on experience with serverless development using AWS Lambda and Type Script.
• 5+ years experience with production applications built with Java and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience with modern frontend applications, including React/Type Script.
• Strong experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools.
• Deep practical experience with relational databases, specifically Postgre
  
  SQL, ORMs, and query optimization.
• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

• Experience developing AI‑enabled services; familiarity with OpenAI API and advanced context engineering.
• Experience with Playwright and Lang Chain.
• Deep expertise in authentication and authorization – OAuth 2.0, OIDC, Auth0, SCIM, role‑based access control for secure, multi‑tenant enterprise platforms.
