Software Engineer (Level 1 – Subject Matter Expert) – Bethesda, MD
Salary:
Up to $ per year | Core
Hours:
9am-4pm
Position requires a Top Secret (TS/SCI) Clearance with a Polygraph. This role designs, develops, and maintains front‑end and cloud-based software applications using a tailored SAFe Agile Dev Sec Ops process. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, risk mitigation, and cross‑functional collaboration across Agile teams.
Primary Responsibilities- Participates in and/or directs software programming initiatives using Java, JavaScript, Python, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
- Develops software validation and testing methods using JUnit and Katalon and integrates custom‑developed solutions to leverage automated deployment technologies.
- Prototype and deploy solutions within commercial cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) utilizing infrastructure services.
- Coordinate closely with product owners and scrum masters to ensure user story alignment and implementation to customer use cases.
- Support the Agile software development lifecycle using Git Hub, Jenkins, Unix Bash scripting, and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Analyze proof‑of‑concept, performance, and end‑to‑end testing, and coordinate infrastructure needs to meet mission requirements.
- Apply best practices and SOPs to create innovative solutions for customers.
- In-depth experience with Java, Spring, and the full software development lifecycle within a Dev Ops environment.
- Direct experience using JUnit/Katalon and scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
- Experience developing on commercial cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and leveraging cloud data services.
- Experience with version control systems and issue/problem tracking systems.
- HS diploma + 16 years relevant experience; or BS + 12 years; or MS + 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience levels:
Developmental (0‑2 years), Full Performance (3‑5 years), Senior (6‑10 years), Expert (11‑15 years), SME (16+ years).
- Experience with structured analysis and design methodologies.
- Understanding of the customer’s system development policies.
