Job Summary
Leidos seeks a Principal Java Developer in our Intel Security Sector's Analysis Solutions Business Area. The role involves Agile development and operations and maintenance for mission‑critical systems within a Dev Ops framework.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain high‑performance, scalable backend microservices using Java and the Spring Framework.
- Participate in software programming initiatives, shape backend architecture, mentor team members, and conduct code reviews.
- Develop and direct software system validation and testing methods using JUnit and Katalon, and leverage custom tooling for automated deployment.
- Prototype and deploy solutions within a cloud‑based platform, leveraging platform services.
- Analyze proof of concept, performance, and end‑to‑end testing, and coordinate infrastructure needs to meet customer mission requirements.
- Support the Agile software development lifecycle following SAFe practices while coordinating with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and team members.
- Document and perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across multiple environments using Git Flow, Git Hub, Jenkins, and scripting (Python, Bash).
- Apply and identify software development best practices and standard operating procedures to create innovative solutions for customers.
- In‑depth experience in Agile practices, service‑oriented environments, and development practices.
- Extensive experience with Java and the Spring Framework, microservices architecture and design patterns, implementing RESTful APIs, and integrating with relational and No
SQL databases. - Experience integrating with and delivering within Dev Ops toolsets and practices.
- Direct experience with performance testing tools such as JUnit, scripting languages such as Python, and Bash.
- Experience developing on commercial cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and leveraging cloud data services (S3, RDS, EFS).
- Proficiency with version control systems and issue/problem tracking systems.
- Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of prior relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience; additional years may substitute for a degree.
- Must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
- Experience writing software that interfaces with data technologies such as Elasticsearch, Postgre
SQL, Dynamo
DB, Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, AWS Lambda, and AWS S3.
Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance is required.
Pay Range$ – $ (general guideline; final compensation will consider experience, skills, and internal equity).
