Role Overview

Position:
Java Developer – Level 3 Senior Software Engineer (Labor Category: Software Engineer).

Salary:
Up to $200,000 per year. Core

Hours:

9am – 4pm.

Location:

Bethesda, MD.

Required clearance:
Top Secret (TS/SCI) with polygraph.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend microservices using Java and the Spring Framework.
• Participate in software programming initiatives, shaping backend architecture and conducting code reviews.
• Develop software system validation and testing methods using JUnit and Katalon, and use integrated custom software solutions to automate deployment.
• Prototype and deploy solutions within a cloud‑based platform leveraging platform services.
• Support the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practices while coordinating closely with team members, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation of customer use cases.
• Document and perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across different environments using Git Flow constructs and industry‑leading Dev Ops tools like Git Hub, Jenkins, and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Apply and identify software development best practices and standard operating procedures, creating innovative solutions to meet technical needs.

• Familiarity with common Agile practices, service‑oriented environments, and development practices.

• Familiarity with integrating with and delivering within Dev Ops toolsets and practices.
• Direct experience utilizing software testing performance tools such as JUnit and scripting languages such as Python and Bash in an Agile environment.
• Familiarity with development in commercial cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and leveraging cloud data services (e.g., S3, RDS, EFS).
• Familiarity with using version control systems and issue/problem tracking systems.
• High school diploma and at least 8 years of relevant experience, or bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience.
