Software Engineer; SME

Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer (SME) in our Intel Security Sector's Analysis Solutions Business Area.

As a Software Engineer on this program, you will build strong systems, software, and cloud environments while providing operations and maintenance for critical systems. This role will provide technical expertise in the design, development, implementation and testing of customer tools and applications. You will participate in major deliverables through all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope estimation, architecture, coding and unit testing.

• Participate in and/or direct software programming initiatives using Java, JavaScript, Python, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
• Develop and direct software system validation and testing methods using Junit and Katalon, and use custom developed software solutions to leverage automated deployment technologies.
• Develop, prototype and deploy solutions within Commercial Cloud Solutions leveraging infrastructure platform services.
• Coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases.
• Support the Agile software development lifecycle following SAFe practices, using industry leading Dev Ops tools like Git Hub, Jenkins, Unix bash scripting and leveraging JIRA and Confluence to track activities.
• Analyze (proof of concept, performance, and end‑to‑end testing) and effectively coordinate infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needs.
• Apply and identify best practices and standard operating procedures, creating innovative solutions to meet the technical needs of customers.

• Extensive experience with Agile practices, service‑oriented environments, and development practices.
• Extensive experience with Java, Spring, C2S and the software development lifecycle, delivering within Dev Ops toolsets/procedures.
• Direct experience utilizing software testing performance tools such as Junit/Katalon and scripting languages such as Python and Bash in an Agile development environment.
• Extensive experience in Commercial Cloud Platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and cloud data services (S3, RDS, EFS).
• Extensive experience using version control systems and issue/problem tracking systems.
• Master’s degree with 15+ years of prior relevant experience or Doctorate with 13+ years of relevant experience (additional years may substitute for a degree).
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance required.

• Experience with structured analysis and design methodologies.
• Understanding of the customer's system development policies.
