Summary
We are seeking a multi-talented individual to join our Supply Chain organization. This role involves managing the flow of materials, overseeing the receipt of incoming shipments, and preparing outgoing orders. Other responsibilities include inspecting and verifying shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and packaging products for shipment. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced Just-in-Time environment are required.
Knowledge of international shipping regulations and experience working with freight forwarders/customs authorities to navigate logistical challenges are essential. Additionally, issuing indirect purchase orders will be part of the job responsibilities.
Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Shipping, Receiving, & inventory management.
- Purchasing experience is a plus.
- Experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Ability to lift packages up to 50 lbs.
Education and
Skills:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in Excel & Access (data extraction and manipulation) required
- SAP or Microsoft Dynamics ERP system experience preferred.
- Results oriented individual with ability to react to situations with a sense of urgency and influence outcomes in a cross-functional team environment.
- Forklift certification or experience is a bonus.
- Receive and inspect incoming goods for accuracy and quality, comparing invoice and order reports to actual received goods.
- Prepare items for shipping, including boxing items, creating shipping labels, and maintaining detailed records of outgoing shipments.
- Manage inventory by organizing stock in the warehouse and maintaining accurate records.
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks and ensure that shipments are sent and received on time.
- Process returned goods, documenting damages and discrepancies, and returning merchandise to stock.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely and efficient transport of goods.
- Communicate with suppliers, receivers, drivers and staff for smooth shipment processes.
- Resolve shipping issues and customer complaints that arise, escalating complex issues to management as needed.
- Processing requisitions and Purchase orders
- Solid understanding of transportation systems, costs and processes
