Job Description
Reports to: Executive Director
Job Requirements: The successful candidate must possess exceptional skills in managing and organizing financial accounts and records. Proficiency in Quick Books and the Microsoft Office Suite is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding time management abilities, strong attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for processing payroll in a timely and accurate manner, creating and managing invoices, overseeing day-to-day financial operations, preparing financial reports, and providing financial insights and recommendations to support the Executive Director in maximizing organizational income and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record daily financial transactions
- Maintain general ledgers and financial records
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank statements for all accounts
- Prepare invoices and track payments
- Process bi-weekly payroll and file taxes
- Process payroll quarterly and annual reports as well as YE employee tax forms
- Generate financial reports and summaries
- Maintain organized filing systems for financial documents
- Support accountants during audits and tax preparation
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Quick Books and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic math and analytical skills
Communication and problem-solving abilities
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred
- Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred
- Certification, such as from the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers or like program
