Overview
Do you want your work typing, processing, and managing documents to support a team that provides families and children with the necessary tools to maintain a happy, healthy home? Apply for this Clerk Typist 2 position with the Crawford County Children & Youth Services, Ongoing Department. With us, you will perform moderately complex, confidential clerical work and contribute to our team’s mission by ensuring smooth workflows and effective communication.

- Prepare Documents:
Type, edit, revise, and proofread a variety of documents and materials based on written or verbal instructions, or from drafts by caseworkers, supervisors, or other staff. - Process Information:
Perform daily data entry; utilize internal and state identified database systems; file and retrieve paperwork; prioritize work requests. - Coordinate Meetings:
Take meeting minutes and transcribe notes into finished documents; participate in meetings; coordinate meeting scheduling, invites, food, setup, and cleanup. - Support Community:
Serve as a mandated reporter at all times; demonstrate a sensitive awareness of cultural and ethnic diversity and age‑related matters; maintain confidentiality and professionalism. - Provide Coverage:
Perform clerical duties to support other units such as answer phone calls and take messages; greet visitors; send, pick up, or sort and distribute mail. - Meet Requirements:
Complete work within all state regulations and agency policies and procedures, including required time frames.
- Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
- Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
- Any combination of equivalent experience and training.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch. Overtime as needed.
- Telework:
This position does not offer telework. - Salary:
The starting salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases.
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
