The position:
Clerical Supervisor 1 with the Philadelphia County Assistance Office. This role will supervise a small clerical unit that performs moderately complex clerical tasks and operates mailroom equipment. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, explaining work methods and procedures, demonstrating operations of mail and office equipment, resolving employee complaints or grievances, providing employees with time and attendance counseling, sorting and distributing mail, collecting internal mail, compiling monthly reports of postage usage and costs, acting as the Fleet Dispatcher to ensure vehicles are operating properly, scheduling maintenance, completing necessary reports when accidents occur, and operating motor vehicles.
Schedule and Additional Information
- Full‑time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch
- Travel and overtime as needed
- Telework may be available part time, subject to eligibility and employer policy
- Starting annual salary $40,685.00 (before taxes) for candidates new to employment in Pennsylvania
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent federal job title), or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience, or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
- Valid Class C Driver’s License
- Conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
