Minimum Qualifications
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in criminal justice or a related field, along with a strong understanding of the Criminal Justice and Court systems as well as Child Protective Services. Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative and records management experience, including data entry, spreadsheet management, and clerical support in a professional setting.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position requires the ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism. Applicants must be eligible for CJIS certification, possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, and successfully pass all required background checks.
Candidates must also be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed, and respond to off duty for priority cases when required.
Under the general supervision of the Criminal Investigations Division Supervisor, this position provides critical administrative, clerical, and investigative support to the Norristown Police Department’s CID unit. The role functions as a force multiplier for detectives by assisting with the management and processing of child abuse reports, legal subpoenas, cyber tips, and other sensitive investigative materials. This position ensures the accurate intake, documentation, and coordination of complex case-related information in support of ongoing criminal investigations.
