THE POSITION
The Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 who will provide administrative and clerical support to the Procurement and Supply Unit of the Staff Services Division, in the Bureau of Training & Education. The Procurement and Supply Unit purchases and provides supplies, materials, and equipment to the staff of the Bureau of Training & Education, including four Regional Training Centers.
DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
The Clerical Assistant 2 will: initiate purchase requests for out‑services trainings, janitorial, office, and other training supplies; ensure and facilitate distribution when items are received; acquire price quotes, place orders via phone or online, and ensure accurate items ordered; handle P‑Card purchases and monthly reconciliations for the Bureau; review invoices for accuracy, receive delivered purchases and process payment accordingly while ensuring compliance with Department regulations;
prepare typed documents and correspondence for the Procurement and Supply Unit via computer, including drafting letters, designing forms, and preparing agency requisitions; complete audits as requested by the Comptroller’s Office.
- Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday with a 30‑minute lunch.

You will not have the option to telework in this position. - Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration).
- Graduation from high school.
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- One year or more of experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook and Excel).
- One year or more of experience in reviewing and processing payments.
- Six months or more of experience using SAP or similar programs.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
