Summary

Inland Deicing Services seeks an experienced, hands‑on Station Manager to lead day‑to‑day station operations for spent Aircraft De‑Icing Fluid (SADF) collection, processing, storage, distribution, and aircraft de‑icing services. This leader will own site safety and security, regulatory compliance, budget and asset stewardship, staff recruitment and development, customer and stakeholder relations, and continuous improvement to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant service during routine operations and high‑demand weather events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Leadership and Safety — Model and promote a learning safety culture; develop, deliver and enforce safety programs, emergency response plans, drills, and PPE requirements; ensure compliance with local, provincial/state, federal, and airport regulations.
  • Glycol Processing of SADF and De‑icing Operations — Manage all aspects of SADF collection, storage, processing, testing, distribution, and aircraft de‑icing operations; ensure airline manual requirements and contract specifications are met.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Reporting — Maintain environmental permits and hazardous materials procedures; complete timely, accurate regulatory and airline reporting; respond to FAA, Regulatory, and airport inquiries.
  • People Management and Development — Recruit, onboard, train, evaluate, and coach station staff; develop and maintain manpower plans, cross‑training, and succession planning; conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Budgeting and Financial Controls — Prepare and manage station budgets, invoicing, payroll, labor tracking, and semi‑annual inventories; control expenditures within approved budgets.
  • Maintenance and Asset Management — Implement preventive maintenance programs; manage spare parts and vendor relationships; oversee equipment modifications and local purchasing.
  • Quality Assurance and SOPs — Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs, O&M manuals, QA/QC programs, testing and calibration protocols, and documentation standards.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Relations — Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, airport authorities, regulatory bodies, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams; represent Inland at operational committees and industry working groups.
  • Operational Performance and Continuous Improvement — Monitor station KPIs, delegate and re‑align staff to meet targets, lead process improvements to increase throughput and reduce downtime, and implement cost‑saving initiatives.
  • On‑call Operational Support — Provide on‑site leadership during weather events and other high‑demand periods; coordinate investigations and corrective actions for incidents.
Required Qualifications
  • Education — Post‑secondary degree in Aviation Management, Business Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience — 7+ years of airline, airport, industrial, or environmental operations experience including de‑icing operations, customer service, maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Regulatory and Security — Knowledge of environmental permitting, hazardous materials handling, and airport security requirements; ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearances and badges; ability to pass pre‑employment background and drug screening.
  • Technical and Administrative Skills — Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and operational systems (e.g., Ice Link); experience with equipment testing, calibration, maintenance planning, budgeting, invoicing, and concise report writing.
  • Leadership Skills — Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor staff, manage manpower plans, and drive performance under fluctuating demand.
