This position plays an important role in overseeing production work and maintaining a safe, well‑organized factory environment within SCI Huntingdon. The role supports daily operations while guiding inmate workers in building valuable job skills. As a Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson, you will perform the following duties:
- Worker Training:
Train inmate workers in manufacturing and production tasks while promoting safe and proper tool use. - Safety Oversight:
Maintain a secure work area and monitor movement, searches, and inventory to meet all safety requirements. - Operational Monitoring:
Use operational tracking systems to review orders, materials, and workflow needs to support effective factory operations. - Supply Management:
Submit purchase requests for tools, equipment, and supplies to keep production running efficiently. - Production Planning:
Review records and assist with goals to improve product quality and overall output.
- Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week.
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

New to Commonwealth of Pennsylvania employees will begin employment at a starting annual salary of $53,036 (before taxes).
Required Experience, Training & Eligibility
- Three years of experience in the production of goods or services; or
- An associate degree in industrial technology, operations management, business administration, or a related field; and one year of work experience in the production of goods or services; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of work experience in the production of goods or services.
Other Requirements
- Must complete mandatory basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
- Must meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.

- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
