Cardiothoracic Surgeon

Job Summary

The Geisinger Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking an adult Cardiothoracic surgeon to join our growing practice at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.

• Provide clinical services at Danville, Wilkes Barre, and Scranton with dedicated 24‑hour, 7‑day‑a‑week Cardiac Anesthesia and ICU staff.
• Perform the full breadth of Adult Cardiothoracic surgery, including standard and minimally invasive valvular operations and multiple arterial conduits for cardiac revascularization.
• Assist with coverage at other sites throughout the system as necessary.
• Participate in programs such as Heart Failure, Adult Congenital Heart disease, Mechanical Circulatory Support (LVAD), ECMO (V‑V and V‑A cannulations), and Structural Heart procedures (TAVR and Mitra Clip implantation).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a structured, high‑volume environment.

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (MD or DO) – required.
• Licensed Medical Doctor in the State of Pennsylvania.
• Broad cardiothoracic training and experience.
• Interest in minimally invasive, robotic, aortic, or mechanical circulatory support desired.
