What is needed for this job
* High school diploma, Associate/Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field preferred
* Are 18+ and have 2+ years of experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, or familial capacity
* Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
* Ability to pass all relevant clearances
The responsibilities we will trust you with:
* Finding new and engaging ways to help kids learn
* Being patient and kind with our parents
* Designing age appropriate lesson plans and activities
* Cultivating and fostering a safe and nurturing environment that will encourage physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of children in the program
* Maintaining required program records, including child files and portfolios
* Adjusting curriculum to ensure that all children meet the learning objectives
* Utilizing state and YMCA guidelines to ensure the safety and well being of the children
