Adjuncts - HVAC/R
Credit part-time, adjunct faculty teaching positions available in HVAC/R. Seeking motivated and knowledgeable individuals to instruct and facilitate HVAC/R learning in the classroom and lab environment. Additional opportunities may be considered for onsite training in industry.
Responsibilities include:
Plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus and outline (provided);
Collaborate with program manager on curriculum development and lab improvements;
Supervise independent and group projects, lab activities, or other training;
Observe and evaluate student's work to determine progress, providing feedback, and making suggestions for improvement when necessary;
Prepare content for classroom and labs for activities as required;
Stay current of industry development and relay these changes to students as applicable.
Qualifications:
- Technical Associates Degree or higher is preferred, but industry experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of five (5) years in HVAC/R Industry.
- EPA Section 608 Technician Certification – Minimum:
Types I & II (Universal preferred). - RSES or NATE industry certifications preferred.
- No previous teaching is required but the candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Moderate computer and technology skills to facilitate administrative and instructional requirements. Technical assistance will be provided as needed and learning workshops are offered on an ongoing basis.
Special Instructions:
The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department and the College. Please understand that there may not presently be an adjunct position available at the time of your application. When an opening becomes available, the hiring manager will look to this pool of candidates for consideration. If hired, official transcripts will be required from all undergraduate and graduate universities attended before a contract is issued.
