Medical Assistant Program Instructor (PT) - Hazleton Center

Essential Functions & Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive course and classroom instruction within specified program areas according to the curriculum developed by the College.
- Teach and advise students; improve student outcomes by utilizing a variety of instructional delivery methods.
- Represent the school positively and professionally to prospective, current, and former students, staff, and the community.
- Serve as the instructor for the programs as scheduled.
- Develop and present comprehensive lesson plans according to the curriculum provided for the program.
- Demonstrate all psychomotor and affective competencies with accuracy according to curriculum and industry standards.
- Perform written and hands‑on assessments for the program, including semester examinations and skill/competency evaluations covering all cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains.
- Maintain accurate written or electronic records of students’ attendance, assessments, web‑based assignments, final exams, clinical grades, and overall averages.
- Monitor student progress and performance and make referrals when deemed necessary.
- Provide accurate grade and attendance records to Program Director and/or Center Director as requested.
- Assist with the orientation process for students.
- Maintain an updated inventory of all supplies and equipment necessary for the programs.
- Report any broken or malfunctioning equipment to Program Director and/or Center Director.
- Ensure a stable and engaging classroom environment while presenting oneself in a manner acceptable and consistent with program and school guidelines, policies, and practices.
- Enforce all school and program policies and report violations to Program Director and/or Center Director.
- Assist in quality assurance of the program and share updated information per national and industry standards with Program Director.
- Maintain CEU credits and keep personal certifications current.
- Set up students with web‑based accounts, provide training and navigation, and manage registration for national certification exams and online resources.
- Administer national certification exams.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish or bilingual preferred.
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented.

- Working knowledge of personal computers and educational media equipment.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask responsibilities.

- Completion of a Medical Assistant program and credentialed in good standing by an organization whose credentialing exam is accredited by the NCCA or ANSI (CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA) taken after January 30 2011).
- Or current and in good standing in another healthcare‑related field with verifiable evidence of experience listed below.
- Instruction in educational theory and techniques.
- Educational theories and techniques may be demonstrated by documentation of completed college courses, seminars, or in‑service sessions on topics including, but not limited to, learning theory, curriculum design, test construction, teaching methodology, or assessment techniques.
- Minimum of three years employment in a healthcare facility, including at least 160 hours in an ambulatory healthcare setting performing or observing administrative and clinical procedures performed by medical assistants.
- Knowledge of phlebotomy and ECG procedures required.
- Current and competent in the MAERB Core Curriculum objectives included in assigned teaching, as evidenced by education and/or experience.
- Minimum one year teaching experience in postsecondary and/or vocational/technical education preferred.
- Copies of certifications required.
