The Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor – Bridge Inspection role with the Department of Transportation gives you the chance to protect the safety of communities across Pennsylvania. You will lead a skilled inspection team and keep critical structures reliable for daily travel, supporting safe roads and strong communities while building your expertise in bridge safety standards.

• Field Inspections:
  Conduct inspections of bridge structures and evaluate conditions of components such as beams, decks, bearings, and supports.
• Team Leadership:
  Guide and support inspection staff, assign tasks, and review completed work for accuracy.
• Record Management:
  Maintain inspection documents, forms, photographs, and system data to ensure accurate reporting.
• Safety Coordination:
  Work with internal and external partners to safely access bridges and follow safety procedures.
• Equipment Oversight:
  Manage inspection equipment, ensure proper maintenance, and identify needs for replacements or upgrades.

• Full-time employment.
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
• Telework:
  You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary:
  Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,008 (before taxes).

• One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration).
• Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

• This position is required to meet the qualifications for a bridge inspection team leader as defined by the current National Bridge Inspection Standards.
• This position requires possession of a valid non‑commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License or equivalent.

• You must meet the PA residency requirement.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
