Job Summary

Job TitleProcess Safety Management (PSM) Coordinator
Job PurposeTo maintain and enhance the facility's process safety management program, ensuring compliance with OSHA's PSM standards and other relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Management of Change (MOC):
Oversee the MOC process, ensuring all changes are properly documented and risk-assessed. Lead MOC risk review meetings and ensure closure of action items before new equipment start-up. - Process Hazard Analysis (PHA):
Coordinate and ensure timely completion of PHAs. Track and document follow-up actions from PHAs to closure. - Compliance and Audits:
Ensure the PSM program is always audit-ready. Participate in and coordinate compliance audits, addressing any findings promptly. - Training and Documentation:
Develop and maintain PSM-related documentation, including operating procedures and training materials. Conduct training sessions for staff on PSM practices and changes. - Incident Investigation:
Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and ensure implementation of corrective actions. - Mechanical Integrity:
Coordinate the Mechanical Integrity Inspection Program to ensure ongoing compliance with PSM regulations. - Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR):
Conduct PSSRs for new or modified equipment, ensuring all safety measures are in place before start-up. - Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for improving PSM processes and implement best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in process safety management within a chemical production environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA PSM standards (29 CFR ) and EPA RMP regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in risk assessment and hazard analysis techniques.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and process diagrams.
- Familiarity with safety management software and tools.
