Overview
Job Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineering Consultant
Location: West Chester, PA
Employment: W2
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
We are actively seeking an experienced Sr. Mechanical Engineering Consultant with a strong background in orthopedic implants and surgical instrument product development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting medical device design, engineering documentation, PLM systems, and cross-functional product development activities within regulated environments.
Responsibilities- Lead mechanical product design and development activities for orthopedic implants and surgical instruments
- Support engineering design, documentation, and lifecycle management using CAD and PLM systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Suppliers
- Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, and product documentation
- Apply GD&T principles in product design and manufacturing processes
- Participate in design reviews, verification activities, and engineering change processes
- Strong experience in orthopedic implant and surgical instrument development
- Experience supporting Spine, Trauma, or CMF product lines highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with Windchill PLM
- Product Development & Mechanical Design expertise
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles and manufacturing processes
- Experience working in regulated medical device environments
Bachelor’s Degree: in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
PreferredRecent experience with DePuy Synthes preferred (within the last 4–5 years)
