- Perform preliminary and detailed thermal design and analysis on thermal protection systems (TPS).
- Perform comprehensive modelling of the entire missile thermal system using standardized processes and tools (NX Thermal).
- Provide technical memos and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews.
- Present resultant design and analysis data to the design/engineering team, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical exchange meetings and formal design reviews.
- Provide review, interpretation, flow-down and implementation of program requirements.
- Work interactively with multiple engineering fields in a fast‑paced environment to develop cost-effective solutions to thermal requirements.
- Professional work experience in thermophysics & heat transfer, fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and/or thermal protection systems (TPS).
- Experience with thermal analysis and software tools such as NX Thermal, FIAT, ACE, AHEAT, ATAC and/or CMA.
- Experience in TPS sizing, testing, test planning, and reporting.
- Active or current Top Secret clearance required to start, preferably with previous Special Access Program experience; U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience in arc‑jet testing.
- Experience in aerothermal environments mapping.
- Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Top Secret clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is mandatory. Previous experience with Special Access Programs is preferred.
Job Details- Ability to work remotely:
Onsite full‑time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. - Work schedules: 9x80 every other Friday off.

The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, and Washington DC is $85,500–$150,765.
