Manufacturing Quality Engineer
As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the production of high-quality products while optimizing manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for monitoring and improving product quality, implementing quality control procedures, creating, and maintaining quality documentation, and enhancing manufacturing processes for increased efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
What you will do:
Manufacturing Engineering:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes and workflows.
- Identify and implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Evaluate and select appropriate equipment and technologies to enhance production capabilities.
- Design and develop manufacturing fixtures, tools, and equipment.
- Conduct time and motion studies to improve production line efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes.
- Participate in new product development projects, providing input on manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
Quality Engineering:
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action investigations for quality-related issues.
- Perform regular quality audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Create and maintain quality documentation, including inspection and testing procedures.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with Quality Management System.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to address quality improvement projects.
- Train and mentor production personnel on quality control processes and standards.
- Monitor and report on key quality performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
Qualifications:
- Would love to see a degreed engineer who has led an ISO
9001 audit and continuous improvement with IPC
610 and 620 experience. - Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field (Masters degree a plus).
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering and quality engineering roles.
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).
- Experience with quality control tools and techniques (FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Proficient in CAD software and manufacturing process simulation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prefer a candidate be based in Bethlehem, PA with the ability to travel up to 25% to Lenexa, KS.
