Job Overview

This position involves advanced supervisory work directing audit units engaged in the examination of financial, accounting, and other business records to determine tax liabilities. The employee is responsible for operations of the entire audit program, rather than only a phase, and will confere with taxpayers and representatives to resolve disputes concerning the applicability of tax laws specific to cases. Work is performed under the general direction of the Revenue Compliance Program Director.

• Direct and oversee the audit unit’s examination of financial, accounting, and business records.
• Manage the entire audit program and ensure compliance with tax law.
• Confere with taxpayers and their representatives to resolve tax disputes.
• Coordinate with the Revenue Compliance Program Director and other departments.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field from an accredited institution.
• Certification: Current CPA license in any state (or equivalent Master’s degree in Taxation or Business Administration with accounting coursework) and must be licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania within six months of appointment.

  At least three years of post‑bachelor auditing or accounting experience.
• Specific
  
  Experience:
  
  One year of supervisory‑level auditing experience, or two years as a Tax and Revenue Conferee evaluating disputed and appealed tax and revenue issues.

Ability to physically perform the duties required of this position and work in the environmental conditions associated with an audit.
