Position
Internal Mortgage Originator
Work ScheduleMonday - Friday: 9:00am - 5:00pm; 2 days a week onsite.
Responsibilities- Consult with and advise borrowers on first mortgage product options, educating and guiding them through the entire mortgage loan process from prequalification to closing.
- Maintain a professional dress attire when meeting members, realtors, and other stakeholders to promote PSECU.
- Handle incoming calls and emails within the mortgage origination call queue.
- Manage live chats with members regarding mortgage inquiries.
- Qualify borrowers and originate mortgage applications.
- Collect required loan file documentation from borrowers.
- Submit loan files in a timely manner for disclosure, underwriting, and approval.
- Review timelines, prequalification letters, estimated cost sheets, loan disclosure documents, conditional approval letters with conditions, and CDs with borrowers.
- Follow up to keep realtors and borrowers informed throughout the loan process.
- Maintain communication with processors and underwriters to ensure loan files are cleared to close on time.
- Review pipelines to confirm all new loans are decisioned in compliance with RESPA regulations.
- Maintain an organized work area.
- Assist with on‑job training of new employees in the unit.
- Participate in projects assigned to support revenue growth and the lending mission.
- Perform data entry and clerical/general office support tasks as assigned.
- Assist with testing of loan origination system upgrades or new products.
- Maintain confidentiality of credit union account information and other designated confidential data.
- Resolve borrower/member problems professionally, whether by phone, in person, or through correspondence.
- Recognize early signs of member disservice and staff‑related problems, and promptly convey concerns to the immediate supervisor.
- Comply with all requirements of the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (SAFE Act, 12
CFR
365). - Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of experience and education) is required.
- Established sales experience with realtors, builders, and/or affinity groups.
- At least three years of secondary market mortgage origination experience.
- Active NMLS/MLO license and Pennsylvania Department of State authorization.
