Job Details
The AVP Finance, focusing on Population Health and Total Rewards, will serve as a financial business partner to operations, with responsibility for financial reporting and analysis for Jefferson’s value‑based portfolio, which includes multiple ACO’s, CIN’s, PHO’s and a Population Health Services Organization. The role will provide financial information and data for decision making, evaluate performance and look for process or contractual improvements that generate favorable returns to the operating margin.
Beyond population health, this role also supports the Total Rewards leader, supporting its financial close and related financial performance analytics. Collaboration across various departments delivers timely and accurate financial reporting to responsible leaders and develops strategic financial insights and recommendations during the month‑end close, leading financial‑related projects to facilitate efficiency and optimization in producing financial statements and related analysis.
This position involves a wide variety of financial reporting, modeling, and strategic thinking. You will leverage multiple financial systems and apply various modeling tools to reconcile and report on financial activity. Additionally, you will support strategic initiatives across departments, collaborating with a variety of stakeholders to create sound financial analyses and recommendations. The role requires strong business relationships within and between departments, as well as proficiency with financial systems and data analytics tools.
FinancialAnalysis and Reporting
- Lead preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for all Population Health entities and Total Rewards.
- Develop recommendations for value‑based revenue recognition for month‑end close.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and performance metrics for value‑based programs.
- Serve as strategic business partner with operational leadership in identifying opportunities for improvement which generate favorable operating margin performance.
- Develop and manage budgets in conjunction with actuary for the medical and pharmacy benefit programs.
- Conduct financial forecasting to support strategic financial planning process.
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to align budgetary goals with organizational objectives.
- Work closely with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the benefit programs.
- Communicate financial insights and recommendations to non‑financial stakeholders.
- Prepare a variety of reports, studies, and analyses including, but not limited to statistical reports, financial plans, business trends, benchmarking, government/regulatory requirements, and business forecasts.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and develop concise, thoughtful analyses.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting.
- 10 years in Finance, Accounting and/or Healthcare.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
- 10 years in Healthcare Finance.
- CPA
- Certified Public Accountant
- State of Pennsylvania
Lifts and carries 25 lbs. Frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use. Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
