Position Summary
The Fiscal Compliance Specialist performs day-to-day fiscal monitoring, transaction testing, grant and contract compliance reviews, documentation, and corrective-action follow-up. Working under the direction of the Director of Fiscal Compliance, this position supports compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, including 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance), organizational policies, and funding requirements.
Essential FunctionsBachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field with at least 3 years of experience in accounting, auditing, and financial compliance. Experience with grant management or government funding preferred. Or any combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable.
Skills & Qualifications- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP, governmental accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
- Understanding of internal control framework and risk management principles
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
- Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and automated accounting systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment and critical thinking skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff, subcontractors, vendors, and government agencies
