Overview
As an Administrative Officer 1 for the Department of Health, you help lead the delivery of vital record services at the Eastern Regional Office. This role offers the chance to improve processes, support consumers, and maintain strong safeguards against fraud. You provide leadership that strengthens service quality, supports staff development, and ensures accurate and secure record handling.
Responsibilities- Office Management:
Oversee operations of the Eastern Regional Office, ensure efficient workflow, and manage the processing of vital records. - Customer Guidance:
Provide direction to consumers on how to file reports of live birth, foreign birth, death, fetal death, domestic adoption, and foreign-born adoption. - Public Relations:
Address consumer complaints, de‑escalate tense situations, and support daily interaction with the public. - Record Oversight:
Manage death and fetal death registrations, issue permits, and review returned certificates for staff errors. - Fraud Prevention:
Identify suspicious information, train staff on document security, and support fraud detection efforts. - Quality Control:
Review applications, verify identity information, and conduct periodic checks to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency. - Staff Supervision:
Assign work, train staff, set priorities, and oversee performance, hiring, and daily scheduling.

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch.

- Minimum two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and a bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
