Up to $25,000 sign‑on bonus for eligible applicants. This posting reflects an opening for an IR Technologist I and we are seeking candidates for that position. Geisinger reserves the right to consider applicants for higher levels of this role to include IR Technologist II based on their skills, qualifications, and experience. • Provide invasive procedure assistance and digital imaging during procedures such as embolization, tumor embolization, chemotherapy embolization, radioactive element tumor treatment, intracranial stenting, intravascular stenting, limb preservation, and endovascular repair of aortic aneurysms.
• Assist the interventionalist during procedures, diagnostic studies, and treatments.
• Operate and monitor equipment; hand instruments in proper order to the physician; assist with suctioning, positioning, and patient emotional support as required.
• Prepare and position patients, administer contrast media as directed by physicians, and provide immobilization devices and radiation protection in accordance with safety standards.
• Explain procedures and answer patient questions; report reactions and changes in patient condition to the registered nurse.
• Document pertinent medical information.
• Maintain knowledge of all interventional supplies and identify neuro, thoracic, abdominal, and peripheral vasculature.
• Operate digital imaging equipment, enter data into IDX, Imaging Suite, and Picture Archiving Communication System Imaging Management Systems; obtain and reconstruct 3‑dimensional images and perform digital subtraction angiography.
• Perform quality control tests of equipment and notify leadership and maintenance personnel of irregularities.
• Monitor radiation dose during complex procedures; ensure equipment and supplies are clean, sterilized, and in working order.
• Maintain patient scheduling, procedure trays, and ordering of interventional supplies; fulfill all quality improvement documentation.

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required).
• Basic Life Support Certification – Default Issuing Body.
• Certified Radiology Technologist – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in diagnostic imaging, medical equipment management, preceptor skills, radiation safety, and interventional radiology.
