**** GENERAL OVERVIEW:
** Provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the Prehospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of Emergency Medical Care.

* ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

*** Drives emergency or response vehicle. (20%)
* Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting. (50%)
* Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)
* Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%)
* Performs other duties as assigned or required.

* QUALIFICATIONS:

** Minimum* High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* For Prehospital Response Unit: 5 years’ relevant experience and current preceptor status
* Medical Command eligible
* PA Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the Paramedic level or licensed PHRN
* Valid Driver's License
* EMSVO within 30 days of hire
* ACLS within 30 days of hire
* ITLS/PHTLS within 2 months of hire
* PALS within 30 days of hire
* CPR – American Heart Association
* Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
* Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
* Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Preferred
* Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician. ICS 100, 200 and IS 700, 800, ABLS and ASLS
* One year experience (AHN EMS)
